Two-Factor Authentication to Become Mandatory at Social Security | News

⚠️ Two-Factor Authentication to Become Mandatory at Segurança Social.
The Segurança Social will make Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) mandatory for all users — individuals and companies — starting on May 12, 2026.
What will change in practice?
In addition to the usual password, users will be required to enter an additional verification code, which will be sent to the email address or mobile number registered on the Segurança Social platform.
📌 Impact for companies and HR Consultants:
Whenever the registered email address belongs to the Client, their cooperation will be required to validate the access code.
This may require prior coordination to avoid delays in meeting compliance obligations.
✔️ We recommend reviewing and, if necessary, updating the registered contact details to ensure continued and uninterrupted access to services.
Proper planning and early preparation will be key to ensuring a smooth transition.
